HD TV's
Hey guys i want to buy an HDTV for my room, how can i tell if there's going to be like a video delay? Like we have a big HDTV in our living room but when I hook up xbox there's like a noticeable delay which makes it frustrating to play. How can i choose a nice tv that wont do this?

All Xbox's will experience a delay up to 1.5 seconds as it has to transfer video into HD. So choosing any TV it will still do this, I am using a 42" LG HDTV LCD, but make sure your refresh rate is over 10,000 or you are really wasting your money. 120Hz is preferable depending on your budget.

I have a couple of friends with HDTV's that haven't mentioned anything about a delay. We get together and play during the week and on weekends, and not one mention of delay. Interesting.

If you have a delay, go into a settings menu (I don't have an XBOX so I don't know where it would be) and you should find a calibration option. This should allow you to fix the delay.
As the delays themselves go, you will never have a perfect timing on any HDTV. Mine is only 720p and 32", and I still get a small delay on some games.

I failed to mention you will only notice this delay in Xbox Live if the Xbox is on HDTV but, if you have it connected normally to the HDTV it will still improve the graphics, and game play is faster.

A delay in XBOX Live is due to network issues, not the use of an HDTV. HDTV's do delay, but nothing that should be noticeable.

Stick with an LCD, nothing bigger than a 42inch and you should have no problems
