For the record I actually like it. A lot of designers here at TFL get a little too "carried away" (to save the least) in design and completely miss the point.
The point of a website is to display content — in which you have succeeded. Another thing to add: a perfect design is something that isn't noticeable at all, which to most novice designers seems to be quite ironic. It's not too distracting, text shows up well, fast-loading.
A few things I would consider:
- Make the border on the posts lighter — go for #C0C0C0 or something.
- Put a border on the page numbers on the bottom
- The sidebar is too "tight", loosen it up a bit with padding and line-height.
- The footer is too empty, try to balance information out by adding BlogLinks and other brief content.
- Try changing the background-color in the posts area (not the posts themselves), it seems a little too strange having the same background color as the header if the separator between the header and content-area is as wide as the page itself.
