Plenty:
- duplicate content
- keyword stuffing
- black hat link building strategies (spamming with back links)
- spammy crappy content (built for adsense)

...to name a few.

However, if you've recently built a site and got indexed, it is normal to disappear from SERP's in the following month or so. You'll be back soon after google calculates your SERP (Search Engine Results Page) position better.

Just read the TOS / Rules in other words, google isn't really that strict in my opinion, so getting blacklisted should seem hard?

You should always have fresh and lucrative content of your site. Also your site have to be well-developed and well-compiled in order to get the access.

I believe it bans the web site once you are doing something wrong. If you are going to do black hat SEO - think twice
