Joomla
How good do you think Joomla is for a News site? Is there anything out there that is better?

Well, I looked at Wordpress and it does seem like a good news script.. But I think I need more then that.. I need a CMS that has different modules that I can place in different areas of my page.. Is Wordpress a good option for that?
Yes, raise my post count please

Personally, I find Joomla hard to navigate and has a hard learning curve. For projects I work on, I like using Wordpress. It can do alot of things with plugins.
There are other CMS'es avaliable on the net that you could look into. Are you technically inclined? Or willing to sit down and work through weirdness things with Joomla?

I agree with Rezzy. I think Joomla is a bit difficult to learn. If you're willing to put time and effort into it, go for it.

i use joomla alot and i didnt find it hard to learn at all, you can install it with content then look at how they set it up. once you figure it out its smooth sailing and extremley easy, there are tons of modules and components for news.

I've used Joomla for two projects and hated it both times. I always stick with wordpress theses days, until it does need alot of user interaction.
Wordpress is my prefered content managment system.
