  Old  Young designer help

I am working on a Portfolio at the moment, but I am having some trouble. I have come across many fantastic portfolio examples over the past few months, and I must say that it is completely discouraging. I see these great sites and I realize that anything that I make will not compare. I am frustrated because I am never satisfied with what I create.

I have read many resources that say how you should talk up your skills and sell yourself to potential clients via your portfolio. My problem is that I really do not have the ability to make GREAT websites. My designs are boring and much too simple. I don't know what to do.

I understand that you cannot force creativity. I just feel like there are so many other brilliant designers out there that can do much better work. How can I possibly compete with them? How do I better my design skills? It doesn't seem like something that can be taught.

Thanks for your time.

Edit: Some examples of my work..
