CONTEST: Design the New TalkFreelance.com Logo!
As we are moving toward the exciting part of TalkFreelance future life the time has come to start working on a new logo. For me it has always been a tough question to answer: what do you design first - the logo or the website? We decided that, being the ultimate presentation of the brand, our logo needs refinement first.
It was only a matter of logic to let the community take its shot at creating the new logotype. With lots of talent around, we hope to see some interesting concepts, one of which might become the one and take a deserved spot to be seen by tens of thousands of members and visitors every month!
Here is what we are looking for in a new logo.
TalkFreelance is in a stage of reinvention. As such, we have to find a way to grow up and change as a resource, without losing the passionate spirit for freelancing. When people think of TalkFreelance, we want them to think of their second office where they can not only manage their professional life more efficiently, seek our contract leads and get their work done, but also learn, communicate and relax at the same time.
This strategy requires that TF evolves into something more functional, modern, social and classy. Something that will enable this website to sustain its objectives in the long term.
In the next few months we expect to roll-out a number of new tools and services, as well as content areas in support of this direction. Hence, we need a logo that would attract and represent the ever-growing resource for web professionals such as web designers, developers, SEO professionals, web hosting specialists, general webmasters and Internet entrepreneurs and investors.
Specifications:
Must be original work.
No particular color scheme, but flexible enough to change to fit the new theme. You can keep it gray, black and white at this time.
Preview format in .JPG, .PNG, .GIF
Illustrator files (.ai or .eps) or PSDs for final submission.
Prize:
Winner: $150 cash payable via PayPal.
Runner-up (1 member): a throwboy.com pillow of your choice.
Date of last submission:
September 30, 2010 (midnight GMT zone)
Other terms:
Multiple entries are allowed.
Use [IMG] tags to display the submission within your post (but don't make the file format too large as to break the width of the window).
Most liked submissions, as decided by staff, will further be decided by a community vote.
We reserve the right to refine terms as we go along.
Please limit discussion to submissions and contest related Q&As only.

I'm not the greatest logo designer around, but I know there are some good ones in this community. Here's my submission though...maybe it'll help kick-start the contest.
