Php ide?
I've mainly just coded stuff in PHP using Notepad++ and tested using a local WAMP server. I'm in the process of learning more complex things and would like to give a PHP IDE a shot, any recommendations for a really good one (can be commercial)?
I've seen ads for a couple but was skeptical.

I strongly recommend you do not get the assistance of machines to do anything if you are still learning PHP. IDE tools become far more useful when you can complete the task without it if needed. However, I've not come across any good IDEs for PHP, I've used notepad++ for a while now and have never seen a reason to switch. Not to say that it wouldn't be nice, I just haven't found a good one.

Agree with what Village said here about not using an IDE if you still are learning.

I have tried many but didn't like most as they are either outdated or are java based and let's all face it, java based anything is crap.
The best one I found is komodo (commercial ide/free editor). My only complaint is that it takes long to initially load. But it's smooth sailing afterwords.
