The break between Journal and Sidenotes doesnt work for me. It just kind of doesnt fit into the design right. Go for something more simple like a 1 or 2 px dotted line.
Colors are nice and vibrant. The white works nicely.
I think my only other hangup is when I glance at the design the first thing my eye really catches is Wallpapers. From what I can tell, thats not the focus of what you do. Might want to play with that a bit. I do like the 3D button effect on it though.

Yeah i may remove the wallpaper thing but still use the button in a different way.
Ill give the other dividing line a shot. My reasoning is silly i know but i did it as the width of the posts was how wide i wanted them so i had to make the blue background wide and therefore it looked silly with no divider and a huge gap. :P
If that made any sense then well done to you as i'm tired and can't really type what i mean. Ill decipher it in the morning.

Not bad, i like the colors.
Here are just some of my suggestions if it were my design:
1. For the page links i would do this:
Make about a 3 or 4px padding under it then make a border-bottom:1px dashed #333;
It will give it a more spaced out underline and look more modern IMO.
2. Space out the posts just a LITTLE bit more, but not much.
3. Just a question: The rss icon next to each post... would that be for the comments RSS of that post or the whole site?
Anyway, looks good so far.

Thanks for the feedback, its hard to do padding in photoshop :P but i understand what you mean.
About the RSS little images, i was going to either have it link to a sort of custom rss for each post, so the post and comments included, or if that could not be done then it would probably go just to the feed subscription page/section.

How on earth is it hard to do padding in photoshop? It's like so easy to do.
Anyways, it looks good. Nice start. Personally this is the type of design I like, plain and simple. However if I were looking at it through the majority of people's eyes on here, it's boring and needs more structure/texture to it.
It's just a text design atm, you need more elements on there that make it look like a website and something attractive, like a box or wrapper that's a different colour that has some effects on it, maybe on the left hand side, or for the header, just to separate things more.

Well i dont know what Photoshop you have but in the fonts window i see no option to add padding between my text and the underline not a way to make it dashed, without drawing my own. If there is a way please let me know as i am yet to find one.

I think he means just move the layer around to "pad" it.
It's not worth making dashed lines in photoshop (takes drawing a line, rasterizing, and deleting every few pixels).
I was just giving you that advice for when you code it.

I like it. It's simple, which is not necessarily boring. I agree with Feefer that the wallpaper button on the left stands out a little too much, but other than that looks good!
