web 3.0
Anybody heard of this?
Apparently there's gonna be one big database and everything's gonna be organized in spaces where the user moves around much like in second life.
What are your thoughts on this and if you have any additional info on the web 2.0 please share your knowledge!
Personally I'm not to keen on this new concept of the internet because if you use a character or something similar to browse, your cookies ecc. can be easily stored and profiles can be made according to your preferences/patterns.
I see it as a lack of freedom...

I just read majority of that article, and what you said in your post, has nothing to do with it. To be fair, this post is useless. Its all useless mumbo jumbo that no one wants nor needs to know yet.

That's slightly more convincing.
Still I don't think has much going for it. Yes I think API's and database sharing could develop. However I don't think Google or any of the big brands would be happy with sharing resources with loads of smaller companies to form a larger collective. I think there would still be boundaries.
And I don't really like the sound of it. A little to much like big brother if you ask me.

I swear the OP has managed to completely miss the point of the article he linked too.
Conceptually, Web 3.0 should be viewed as one large database
|
Doesn't actually mean there will be one big database.

The whole idea of "one big database" is complete bull imho.
I mean, think about it.
Lets say you mess up somewhere (or your account gets hacked).
Does this mean that your 'second' life - online - is done for?
I agree with Immersion, you've no idea what you're talking about.
